A back room tour of the Boonsboro Museum of History revealed a desk that is built from the scaffolding that hung John Brown! It's all about "The Carpenter" (George Evert) and his desk. Rumor has it that the location of the home that had the porch made from John Brown's scaffold was kept secret. So secret, that eventually, even the home's owners did not know the story of their own porch, and the porch was torn down.
